Barcelona

Barcelona is the capital city of Catalonia, and it is the second-most populous city in Spain with a population of around 1.6 million residents. The city is most well-known for its architecture (mainly Gaudí), its many beaches and its football team FC Barcelona.

Annual events include Barcelona Carnival, which lasts one week and offers around 30 parades with many costumers, fireworks and dancing, and La Mercè Festival, during which the city is transformed into a beautiful gathering of parades, dances, events, fire runs as a way of celebrating the beauty of life.

When visiting this city, tourists, internationals and business people alike tend to explore the architectural wonders that were created by Gaudí. Some of his works include Casa Milà, Nativity façade and crypt of Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell, Casa Batlló, Church of Colònia Güell: Gaudi’s Crypt, Palacio Güell, Casa Vicens. These seven works of Gaudí make up a UNESCO World Heritage site. Other activities include visiting the many museums, such as the Barcelona City History Museum, or spending some time at one of the many beaches and tapas bars.
