Hasselt
Hasselt is the largest city of the province of Limburg, located in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is also called the capital of Belgian Limburg. The city has a population count of around 71,500 residents. Hasselt is known for its Japenese Gardens (which are the largest in Europe), the Kiewit Airfield, which is a recreational field and its national jenever museum (Dutch gin). The city was claimed various titles over the year, such as ‘Capital City of Taste’ and ‘most sociable city of the region of Flanders’.
It is also a mecca for modern-day shoppers, some even believe the city to be the fourth-ranked in the list of the best Flanders shopping areas. The Koning Albertstraat and Demerstraat are some of the shopping streets to visit while in Hasselt, these streets are filled with chocolatiers, brand fashion stores, jewelers and perfume shops.
